Inspiration, But With A Lack Of Real Motivation.

Lately, I've been feeling somewhat inspired to do more creating. In the last two days, I've seen two excellent movies that have just made me want to... do something. Across the Universe and Almost Famous. The first is a musical using Beatles songs set in the 60's. It's kind of trippy and weird, but I can't help but enjoy it, and somehow I find myself never truly tiring of it. It's somewhat difficult to truly describe, so I simply have to recommend that you just watch it. It's a long movie and I've seen it several times, and every time I watch it it makes me want to do something. It inspires me somewhat, though in a very vague way. Almost Famous is about a 15 year old kid who winds up writing a story for Rolling Stone about a band in the early 70's. It's apparently a semi-autobiographical film about Cameron Crowe, who also directed Jerry McGuire. This movie inspires me in a more specific way. To write. To be honest, I haven't written anything in my free time outside of this blog for quite a while, which I view as somewhat of a shame. I don't know if I would truly consider myself a writer, but I do enjoy writing somewhat, and I'm told I'm pretty good at it. I suppose it's the same case with my art. I only draw when I'm bored and don't have anything else to do. My most prolific time for sketching is when I'm in a class, taking notes. For some reason, I just don't use my free time to draw, which is unfortunate, since it's fairly deeply involved in my chosen career path. As is writing actually, at least ideally. So there's the problem. And I'm fully aware, it is my own problem. I'm obviously the only one that can do anything about my own lack of motivation. I'm just not sure... how.
